Strange goings-on in Gunne's Crusade.
This is where I have 2 large Complexes, a Trading Post, 4 Equipment Docks, and about 1/3 of my fleet.
All of this stuff has been in-sector for several game-weeks.
The only Pirate activity here has been a few fighters, a Duke's freighter or two, and maybe a TM once in a while. Most of the time they just transited the Sector.

Referencing my thread "News Flash--X-universe Today" where I reported two Brigantines and a large number of escort craft. I also reported the Carrack (and escorts) quick assault after the Brigantine attack.
These were true events!

I have since docked all ships that were patrolling this Sector.
I took some heavy losses from the first big attack and haven't made good on them yet. (I need a few Carrack and M3 replacements.)

Presently I have another Brigantine and several M3's running amuck in Gunne's Crusade.
I'm about to attack with my Boreas and an Aquilo. I'll be backing them up in my Tiger.

I have taken no action against any Pirate factions except OOS defense against some M3 and M4 assaults on my Stations and Complexes in other sectors. Nothing out of the ordinary.

The only "new stuff" are two new Complexes--one in Mines of Fortune and another in Ocracoke's Storm.
I'm also training 20 new Marines to fill up a new Kraken (M7M) I just bought.

I can't figure out why they've taken all this 'new interest' in me and this Sector.
I'm also a little concerned this new attention may not stay in this one Sector.

Most likely it's just a new monkey wrench the game is throwing at me.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced any sudden, large ship, Pirate attention?

Why not use this as a chance to try out your fancy new Kraken? It could clear up your Brigantine issue in a jiffy. To paraphrase Frank Miller, "Our Hammers will blot out the suns".

The Marines for the Kraken aren't fully ready yet...but shortly.
I have no problems about adding a Brigantine to my fleet. Wink

I'm more curious about why I'm being honored with this new attention.

This happened to me in my last game of TC. Strangely enough it didn't happen until my fight rank was fairly high (warlord). Then suddenly pirates started attacking everything I owned all at once, all the time. It was suicide to go to split fire in anything less than an M2 due to brigantines and carraks jumping in when i would come into system.

I think they just got mad at me because I would go into maelstrom and start fights with them all the time.
