Okay, so recently I was doing the new Shady Business plot, and I had to make a decision between three corporations, Strong Arms, Jonferco, and Beryl. I chose Strong Arms thinking nothing much about the choice I made. A while later I got attacked by a corvette from Beryl. Nothing much. A while later still my stations were attacked by four corvette class ships, two from Jonferco (which surprised me) and Beryl, the seven M2s and 3 M7s in the sector dealt with them quickly.

Once again I was attacked, this time four M6s from Jonferco, a little late to the party four Beryl M6s attacked. Later still I was attacked by an Akuma M7 and four M6s escorts from Beryl, by this point I was getting worried, the distance between my stations had cost me one equipment dock, that's 30 MCR down the drain. Close to getting off for the night, sometime after I has saved my progress I was once again Attacked, there were two M7s and four M6s, they hit my PHQ, destroying it and at least six ships in for repairs. Ragequit.

Luckily I have reloaded and am preparing to deal with the issue, but the real problem has surfaced. I really don't do good on deffence, I can deploy Laser Towers, but at the rate the attacks are going, will I be fighting M2s and M1s? CAn anyone offer some insight? Can laser towers deal with M2s? Am I overreacting? Laugh

If my mission goal was pissing off the entire ATF fleet, then consider it a success!

I need to get that far in the plots, atm im being slowed down by the corporation plot - as im constantly going back and forth telling the owner what to do. Hopefully I can get onto that plot soon!

Yea, the corporation plot has kept me occupied, haven't been able to rest with that three-eyes sending me messages the whole time Laugh

I wish I could use the money in that corporation right now, *possible spoiler* supposedly the reward for completing the quest line is another, more impressive PHQ, like the big corporate HQs, so I'm drooling over the thought of completing it. They say you need 10+ standing to continue the plot or beat it so that's what I've been shooting for.

Last time I played the plot in late beta stage, the biggest ship attacking my stations were from the classes M6 and M7.

Placing Lasertowers might be an idea, when you have easy access to them and if there are not many stations to protect. Apart from that, if you have the money, an M7M ship would be a good investment. You can easily attack and destroy a number of targets, without getting in their weapon range.

Last time I played the plot in late beta stage, the biggest ship attacking my stations were from the classes M6 and M7.

Placing Laser towers might be an idea, when you have easy access to them and if there are not many stations to protect. Apart from that, if you have the money, an M7M ship would be a good investment. You can easily attack and destroy a number of targets, without getting in their weapon range.

I do have a complex producing laser towers and the ammo for M7M class, but I'm still getting the feel for the M7M. The main issue is I don't want to be sitting in my home sector the entire time fighting off an infinite swarm of enemies, I'll probably invest in another laser tower factory and build more for defense, I'm more worried about loosing all the rare ships I have collected. The space between my stations is an issue, I have two eq docks to the far left of the jump gate, the main factory complex is way out in front, leaving plenty of space in between where I stuck my PHQ, and I've been thinking about adding a trading station to sell off surplus resources.

If the enemy is only going to use M7s and under then I can take a deep breath and relax, I was worried about finding two or three M2s cruising around my sector, that wouldn't be cool Laugh

Well I was playing around, adding on to my factory complex, suddenly there's four M6s two M7s and an M1 in my sector, was about to freak out when I got the next mission for the Shady business plot, and they jumped out of the sector, so the violence does escalate over time, but the plot should advance before things get too nasty.:eek

For the npc station raids (from the turned down factions) I have never seen anything bigger than a M6 attack. Maybe it is tied to combat ranking? I did see M1s and M2s at some plot points but they were not the station raids.

It might be fight rank, but it did eventually escalate to M1 class ships, however, the attacks ended the instant the M1 arrived.
