Ramblings of an Argon Nephew (Page 20 of 35)
Written by TTDBuilding within building is possible.
It is working as described in the story, but obviously I have just thrown in the bit about one computer component becoming six.
You do have to be quick getting the CCKs in place, otherwise you risk blowing the stations up. That is why I recommend only doing blocks of five.
I have achieved all this without leaving the sector except for delivery to Mahi Ma.
It is something I thought of trying a long time ago but never got round to it, but in another thread I found someone who had done it. then a few more.So I thought I would try it and fit it around my tutorial story-line.
I have as yet not tried with all types of stations ,so if you try it,beware, and save regularly. Not something I can do within the constraints of the game--No Salvage Insurance.
Oi 'ave bin doin me calks an' Oi vined dat with de available ore moins Oi've claimed in dis zecter that Oi kin produce only 3,075 per hour.
Dat's just over 6 days at vull production. Oi moight open the market up for npc traders to azist. Oi 'ave a number of UTs now , zo they may 'elp. Oi culd alzo set up zome stashunn traders at the Hub to search for good deals on Ore.
Meanwhile Oi'm nearly 'alv way troo settin' up me Teladianium Foundries.
Right then, Oi 've got 20 Teladianium moins an' need te git the others built.
"All Teladianium Foundries connected to main complex, sir." Dermot said.
"Seems your 'oliday made you vorget we are on virst name terms, Dermot." Norman replied with a slight grin.. " Not at university now, boy. This is the real universe and you're 'eading vor recognishun."
"Fine. Not sure I'd enjoy all the fuss but anyways,...We can store 119880 Teladianium. Two full batches will be more than enough for your friend at the hub. We are still buying in e-cells si..I mean Norman.Do you want to continue like that?"
" Vor noo,Dermot,Oi wnt te be sure jus' 'ow many an' what size we need to complete this complex before Oi commit meself. Oh and when you go, take these Ore calcs with you an' let me know what else we need to be a doin',ok?"
"I'll get right on it ,Norman.Might take a few hours to make sure of everything."
... Time passes...
" It seems we are one Bio Gas fact M, short for the Teladianium, Norman, and we may have to consider XL size in SPPs too. We would need three of them ,plus one M size if we were not buying in. Otherwise everything going well. Traders are buying our surplus goods. I have not switched off production ,in order that we can get some of our investment back."
" Dat's voin vor noo,Dermot.Go tek a break. Oi t'ink dat yun' assistant was looking vor you...Anna?...anyways, it's zumthin' you kin chat about while you take dat break..."
",,,well it's like this, Norman," Dermot was explaining the final structure. "We have most of what we need in terms of sustainable factories here in Hollow Infinity. Keep in mind that with the latest design in complex structures, we can switch on and off production in any or all factories within, as and when we see fit , to maximise production of any one commodity."
"Right Oi'm with you zo var. So what is the final construction to comprise ov ?"
"See here...."

"There are also the Ore and Silicon Mines here also connected. The ore can be used for hardware when needed."
Norman looks at the data pad and then ham-fistedly fumbles with his terminal and checks what has been done so far.... looks at the production cycles and then looks back to Dermot.
"Oi'l never git yoost te these t'ings. But Oi kin see it shows we really need those crystal and e-cells supplies. Buyin' in e-cells is a slow progress now so we need our own production. Please see to it."
Ok, things are progressing nicely now. The complex is completed. Both my ships and NPC are delivering Teladianium to the Hub,which is next door.(or should that be next gate?).
If anyone is doing much the same as Norman, then you will be pleased to know that you are not too far from a source of Nividium. Go scan the asteroids in the US below Menelaus' Oasis. and if you have not noticed something extra, do a complete complete sector scan. There is a secret container there somewhere.I'll let you find out what and where.
Rumors and reports started to leak out from the scientific community across the universe.
Some groups claimed...
"These reports of compact complexes , up to 80% smaller ,and yet producing the same quantities as full size complexes are as yet just rumors. There is no hard evidence for us to look into as yet."
Others...
"Reports of streamlined complexes requiring 20% of normal staff quota to produce normal output is worrying. It was bad enough when robots, automatons and androids were introduced to reduce staff requirements. Where will the labour-force go if these complexes become the norm? "
And another...
An unknown and forgotten family along with large group of scientists have been asked to stand before the Senate at Argon Prime to receive the highest rewards for industrial and scientific research. We managed to track down a certain Norman Fudge, just before he was about to launch another one of his projects and asked him for more details... "Well Oi bain't zayin much 'til Oi've got what dey want te giv Oi. But Oi will zay this. We were not the virst ones te try this, so all credit really goes to the brave guys who inspired me in te virst place"
we asked the Split delegation, visiting Argon Prime what they thought about it...
'We not talk to likes of you,Go away!'
So not much confirmed information as yet, but keep watching these news reels.

PTNI HQ today deniessss any firm knowledgsse that a new dessssign of complex ssstructure may prove to give greater proffittssses. Rumorsss abound that theee nephew of a former Teladi businesssss partner, who wassss financsssiallee dissssgraisssed is behind the design. The real quessstion for them isss what isss the motive behind thissss new trader. Will willing pass on theee deetailsss to the PTNI 'for the benefit of universal trading'? Or will he use it for his own profitssses?
At a time of fluctuating economieeesss across the universe, these rumors are disturbing, even to lone Teladi who has just managed to purchassse hisss firsst Vulture."
Meanwhile other races remain quiet, prefering to see the outcome before addressing any changes.
Terry Conard sat down with Dermot and Anna in the rest room.
"Have you been studying the production in the new complex lately, you two? Or have you been noticing each other too much?" he asked with a slight wink at Anna.
"Why,Terry! You have obviously had your eyes away from the screen lately. You're not jealous are you?" Anna replied, teasingly.
" What figures are you worried about Terry?" Dermot asked, ignoring the the banter.Anna was a friend and foremost she was a colleague. He did not have time for anything else...although he sometimes .... well,no matter. "What's wrong?" Always double check everything. That was his philosophy. He had not noticed anything that could not be put right by switching units on or off.
"Teladianium has stopped shifting even at bottom price. Microchips and Computer Components keep running out of stock, even at maximum price. We've started to buy in Silcon,Bofu and Crystals, just to try to keep up with production demands."
"Ok.I'm not into financial statistics." replied Dermot, "so I will talk to Norman later."
"Better still," replied Anna, " since you're the one who noticed it, why don't you run along and tell Norman yourself. He doesn't bite, you know. Do you need an interpreter?" she joked. She wanted to discuss something with Dermot and he kept ducking the issue by having 'other work to do'.
"f u n n e y !" replied Terry as he made to leave.
