Shady Business Plot guide

Choosing sides

Now you know about more about the Split bridle, and she likes engine parts. Its time to find her mobile base of operations. She can be found in Lost Order (right of map). You may have some problems getting there, because its could be guarded by Pirates.

You will notice a Split Elephant in the sector, like so:

Finding the Split bridle

Now get within 25km and com the Elephant. You will be able to talk-to Ho t'Sht once again. She will tell you that she is developing new engine tech. However it has drawn attention from organizations such as; Strong-Arms, Jonferco and Beryll. She wonders about sharing her work with one of them, and gives you run-down of each of the organizations:

Strong Arms

What they are after: Speed, Speed and more Speed. The M/AM ramjet design supersedes Terran specifications and improves on almost all aspects, including superior acceleration.

What Ho t'Sht would get if Strong Arms sponsored her research: Split shipwrights are some of the best in the gate network. The innovative Dragon and Caiman designs were years ahead of their times. Testing platforms would be readily available.

What you would get out of the deal: The original agreement of 5M credits and access to future Split ship designs.

Jonferco

What they are after: Since procuring Trans-Orbital Accelerator - TOA - technology from a Terran trader in Mars before the Advanced Technology Embargo - ATE - took effect, Jonferco has been looking at new M/AM engine designs for optimal use with their newly expanded highway system.

What Ho t'Sht would get if Jonferco sponsored her research: Jonferco has direct access to a wide range of high tech goods and stations.

What you would get out of the deal: The original agreement of 15M credits.

Beryll arm of the Yaki Syndicate

What they are after: Whatever it is, it's probably related to either expanding their illegal technology markets or something equally dubious.

What Ho t'Sht would get if the Beryll sponsored her research: Any technology or service that would be hard to acquire through normal channels would be easy to obtain through Beryll markets.

What you would get out of the deal: Shady Business. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Maybe a smouldering hole in your backside for your trouble.

I would suggest you select Strong Arms due to the end-plot reward but choose who you like. The Yaki option adds some useful factories to the Shipyard in Senators Badlands, and the Argon (Jonferco) gives you a good money boost. There maybe other advantages / disadvantages to each choice, but I didn't look into each option that deeply.

When you made your decision, fly to the corporation's HQ and talk to them about sponsoring Ho t'Sht engine tech.

You will now get messages from the other corporation's, from threats to offers.

After a little time, Ho t'Sht will demand you return to her (in Lost Order). So when ready, jump there and what see wants.
