After plastering

Well, the plan was to complete the plastering over the weekend, but things didnt work out that way. Instead we had to rush over to get another bag of plaster on Monday morning - so dad could finish plastering Monday evening. Plastering is very messy, and hence why I tapped dust-sheets to the wall. As you can see things were a bit of mess afterwards;

So with the plastering done (Monday night, 12th July), it was my time to take over the work. However on the Tuesday most of the plaster was still drying. So instead I removed the dust-sheets and started to clear up. Fortunately the dust sheets had stopped most mess from reaching the floor. So for now there was little to do, apart from wait for the plaster to dry. The next day (Wednesday, 13th July) I started the the filling stage - or at-least preparing to fill. Before I do any filling, I need remove the excessive plaster - bumps, lines etc. Doing this also gives me a good chance to examine the surfaces so I know what needs to be filled. On my first pass, it looks like there could be a bit of filler on the ceiling, the two end walls and where the new plaster meets the old. So im thinking it will take a couple of days. Anyway, this is how things looked after my first day of filling;

Progress after the plastering

I will probably be removing all the old paint too, as I feel this may effect the end result. It may take longer than I first thought but I guess it takes, what it takes - it would be silly to rush it now.
