The upstairs project 2016 (Page 27)

Time to strip

Its been a fairly busy couple of days - as we been stripping; paint.. not anything else. I wanted to remove all the paint, so the newer plaster can join the older plaster better. I would hate to see join line after painting. Its been hard work as some of the paint didnt come off with a fight. However by Sunday (17th July) all the paint had been removed. So this is how the upstairs looked after all the paint had been removed;

As you can see, plaster is visible on all surfaces now. So the next thing for me to do is to blend the surfaces together. This will done by sanding down the plaster and filling. This isnt going to be easy and will take a lot of time and effort. On a side note, the power to upstairs has been turned off. So a temporary power-cord has been put into place - to keep our internet, aerial splitter and some tool power on (its the white cable in the pictures). Its not ideal, but its safer than having live sockets.

Maybe I might be able to move back this weekend? but this depends on a lot of things. At worse case, I should be back up-there within 2 weeks. We have to see how things go.

ps. other types of filler are also available :p
