Farnhams Legacy Plot (Page 3 of 11)
Leaving the System
After entering Holy Vision epsilon a Paranid contact you asking you to leave the system in 1 minute. Just turn around and head back through the gate to The Void alpha. To progress further you will need to talk to Hola Ni onboard the Boron Research station (back in The Void delta). Use the Hyperspeed Access Point in The Void alpha to The Void gamma, and continue to The Void delta.Once back, tell Hola Ni that you have found the jump-gate but you found a bunch of Paranid who were hostile. He tells you of a Paranid Diplomat called Krimanckolanks. With his help may be able to convince the Paranid to be friender. You will find him The Void beta. After 30 seconds you should get a message from Hola Ni, which reads as follows;
I have searched the corporation database, but have found very little information about Krimanckolanks (the Paranid Diplomat) in there. His background is unclear,
but his name first appears in a report from early 764 NT about a failed exploration mission to XaarXen, a planet in the Consecrated Fire system.
This suggests that his home system may also be located somewhere in the Second Duchy. Details of his later career are somewhat vague, but he shows up in several military research
articles relating to the Paranid Jump Gate project of 765 NT, which resulted in a connection to the Terran Home System. After that there is a three year gap. When he next appears, in 768 NT,
he has advanced through several military ranks, and commands a frigate. At this point his name only features in rather uneventful reports involving patrol missions within Paranid core systems.
In 772 NT, he apparently left the military and started a career as a diplomatic Agent. Initially working only for the Paranid government, he later expands his portfolio to cover various corporations
(specifically Atreus Shipbuilding Currents, Jonferco and Strong Arms). At the end of 778 NT, he vanishes again, only to show up a year later here, in this isolated system.
This all sounds rather dubious to me. If I had to hazard a guess, based on his enigmatic history and irregular yet high-ranking military career, I would say that Krimanckolanks worked for the Paranid secret service. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he had worked for the Priest Emperor Xaar himself as an Agent. He certainly has the knowledge, and the charisma, to have done so.
Krimanckolanks was one of the first of the others to be stranded here, just a week or so after I arrived. To be frank, when I first met him, he didn't seem all that lost or confused; more like he was looking for something. His persuasive nature was not immediately apparent to me, but after a while I noticed the way that he subtly influenced everyone he talked to, to get what he wanted. Using these skills, he gathered information, obtained his own office on one of the abandoned stations, and even acquired a private docking bay for his ship. If there is anyone who will be able to help us persuade the Paranid to grant us access to their systems, it will be him.
So when you are ready, head to The Void beta (Use the north gate in The Void delta) and go talk to him.
When in the system you may find your Low Frequency Locator (LFL) picks something up.
This time it is another abandon ship - a Boron Dolphin (at cords -38km, 0km, -20km).

Anyway, when you ready go talk to Krimanckolanks and tell him you need his help. However before he will help you, you will need to find something for him. So now return to Hola Ni (in The Void delta) and see if he can help.
You tell Hola Ni that Krimanckolanks wants valuable item which is required to stop the gates shutting down. Hola Ni isnt sure what he wants, but thinks its might be something in the asteroids near-by. You tell him that you will scan the asteroids in-case there is something of interest. So head towards The Void zeta - you should find that you been given a Mineral Scanner for your troubles.
Once in the system you should find your quest marker has high-lighted a asteroid. When ready move towards the high-lighted asteroid (10km) and scan it;
You will need to scan a few asteroids before you will find one that will explode. When this has happened you should see a crate with some Artefacts in it. Go collect the Artefacts, then take them to the Boron Research station in The Void delta. You will need to dock at the station to deliver the artefacts.
At this time it might be worth heading towards The Void eta (east), to pickup some useful crates; some Mosquito Missiles, a Triplex scanner (very useful) and a few Energy cells (randomly placed). The Triplex scanner itself will be very useful.
Once delivered, you will need to talk to Hola Ni and tell him that you found some unusual metal. He will be confused about it and will need some time to analyse it. For the time being he has another job for you - he wants you to build a BoFu Chemical Lab because the system is running low on BoFu.
