Below is a list of engines in X4. Simply change the ship to see a list of all available engines for that ship.

Engines affect your top speed, acceleration and your travel speed, but not your turning speed. Some engines boost travel speed more, whilst some favour top speed. Engines come in different sizes: S, M, L and XL variant. You can only fit an M sized engine onto an M sized ship. However if you wish to see how an L sized engine would affect an S sized ship, tick Ignore class size. You dont be able to do this in-game, but it maybe fun to see. You can also toggle race rules, ie. fit an Argon engine onto an Boron ship and vice versa, by ticking Ignore race rules.
