I know what you mean - X2 was great but its looking rather old nowadays.

the only thing i didnt like about x2 was the introduction of the AoE weaponry, ions and psg's. They made capturing ships so damned easy, also it would of been good if harder levels made certain items rarer, or just plain did something other than mess about with starting funds

I did think that because of X2's sort-of plug and play style ships, we may see 'build' your own style ships in X3 - that would of been cool.

I'm not so much of a hater of AoE, cos we do have weapons like that however I agree about capturing was made too easy - you could make a career from it. Myself, I think this was because the bail chance was too high and the ion (which allowed you to get a 87% captured ship) every time - just depended on how bored you got.

i actually made a living out of capturing in xtension, but that was a fair bit of messing about, since x2 it became less a skill thing and more a certainty that one would eventually bail.

I have added 10 more smilies (8 being banana related). So there are 75 smilies now! I have also done some more work on the mod side too: allowing threads to be locked and / or sticky. The next thing I need to do is give the mods the ability to edit anyone's post.
Maybe later, would anyone like to be a mod? Alien Dance 1

btw. does voting for ships work okay? its just that no-body (apart from me) as voted for any of the X3, TC, X2 ships.

oh, the vote is done on the ship's page. If you look under the image of the ship, you should see a button marked 'post review', click that then add your scores Wink

The old scores got removed, as I knew spam-bots used to click on everything. This would make the votes not fair. This new system allows me to track which ships you have voted - I plan to make a page 'so-and-so fav. ships'.

btw, not sure what you meant about the ship pages - have been there for along time!

After some changes to my code, hopefully IE users should be able to post now. The reason is that IE is doing some weird stuff with my button code (my code has to 'adjust' the returning values, and I even need to look for different values)! IE is a nightmare!

In the process of fixing that I broke some other code Bomb

I have now fixed everything hopefully! Thank-you for reporting!
