Terran Scrap Recycler (ware)

The Jump Gate shutdown left many sectors with very limited access to resources, prompting stranded Argon engineers to begin development of advanced recycling facilities. One of these was the Scrap Recycler; a module designed to process scrap into usable resources, converting them into Hull Parts and Claytronics in alternating production cycles.

The arrival of the first interstellar messenger drones after the Fall of the Gates encouraged the administrations of many sectors to share survival-critical information with now inaccessible neighbouring systems, including blueprints for the new recycling technology. The aim was to help resource-disadvantaged populations, in the hope of receiving important information in return.

This system of mutual information exchange worked so well that many sectors maintained it locally even after Jump Gate connections were restored.

Upon receiving blueprints for the Scrap Recycler, the Segaris Pioneers modified them to be compatible with their Terran economy. Instead of converting Scrap Metal to Hull Parts and Claytronics, their variant produced Silicon Carbide and Computronic Substrate in the same alternating fashion.
