well my current fleet is pretty pitiful, im only a few hours into a "modified" boron start (ive used cycrows cheat pack to gift myself an Enhanced Mako, Bara Proto and Skate Proto since they are not ingame). but done nothing else other than that. at the moment i have:
1x Personal Pleco: Enhanced Mako, Bara Proto, Octopus Vangaurd, Adv Bara.
3x Mapping Pleco: 4x Octopus Vans
2x Escort Pleco: 4x Adv Bara
10x Dolphin Haulers (largely now local traders)
1x Angel (now nipping about buying Boron Marines )
plan is to use only Boron ships as much as possible, but still "collect" all the other race ships for REing at my PHq's. using the cloning trick i hope to have 1 PHq for each race and a personal PHq where i hope to have a complete set in time. only difference is my Boron ships will be red once i decide to go for my PHq.

I came across an Egosoft thread where someone had figured out how to clone the PHQ, but he refused to reveal his method. Please do share it if you know it, or point me to somewhere I can find out.

its actually soo simple youll kick yourself. you need to do it when the PHq is still a ware onboard a TL.
i done it via an EqD, uploaded the PHq to the EqD, then using a ship with a Freight drone and relevent software to make it work, tell it to collect the PHq and when it asks for a value of how many type in "-1" it would appear that the trade software doesn't handle negative numbers... so if you collect -1 from the EqD it actually adds one to the value on the station... it can also be done with any other wares you have in your hold... missiles, weapons, sheilds... as long as its unequiped from the ship it will show in the transfer window for transfering wares via freight drones.
as it has been pointed out, its a pretty heavy exploit considering its possible to clone as many wares as you can handle for absolutly nothing. so use it at your own risk... also to my knowledge nobody has found a way to generate new wares (such as repair lasers) or the tuning upgrades using it... so in AP to my knowledge there is no vanilla way of getting them yet.

i was the same when i discovered it. kinda ticked me off...
main reason i like it is that i place a stipulation that im not allowed to buy any capital ships (M7/M2/M1)... unless im going to be REing them... therefore any caps i have i have to build myself via the PHq. it slows down how quickly i build up fleets and keeps each game start a bit more interesting.

people get bored and then they start to experiment or it happens and then they repeat it, its like science 1000 failures do lead to 1 right (Sometimes)

as i said i never found it. aparently this same exploit has been around since the introduction of Freight Drones. they managed to fix Kurush's CLS exploit only to leave this one open. in which this one seems easier to fix, or it would appear that way anyways.
as i said before its there for people to use if they do wish, i would reckomend not using it to clone wares since it does kill off a lot of the begining grind which is half the fun, but if your like me who likes building your own fleet rather than buying, cloning the PHq is kinda the only way to successfully do it in vanilla TC/AP. especially considering the build times and RE times of the big cap ships.

bit of a war type of person
war fleet :
9 x split raptors each loaded with 65 x mamba m3 fighters
5 x split M7M cobra's
10 x M7 tigers
3 x Split Python (with lasors :3 )
Support fleet :
1 x Teladi Tern Sentinel M7 loaded with missles for split M7M's
5 x Teladi Terns for moving missiles to M7M's as well as keeping the Sentinel loaded with ammo as well
Mining fleet :
1 x Aran with Raptor docked on it Raptors loaded with my mamba raider and loads of other ships
20 x Terns for mining with
1 x jump beacon
in my main system I have my PHQ and its guarded by my war fleet untill I decide to use it on the boron or xeno's again .
stations are a huge amount of minings stations all XL scatered around lots of systems with laser towers I built at my laster complecs
and thats about it for now , leave the game running in sata while I am at work and play when I get home till about 4 the next morning , do plan to take over the universe in the next month or two .

Just dont have them parked next to each other, then ask all the ships to undock - you might have a few less ships

yea happens all the time , so get them all in and around 10k from each other then let them rip the sector a new one

Well this my fleet tell me what you think.
M2- 5x Valhalla's
M8- 10x Claymore's (2 docked on each Valhalla)
M6- 40x Hyperion's (8 docked on each Valhalla)
M3- 330x Fenrir's (2 docked on each Hyperion, and 50 docked on each Valhalla)
I'm thinking of breaking them into 5 separate stand alone fleets but I'm not sure yet.
