@ Redheart........ There are two reasons why I like the Astreus, I can't dodge anything in a slow ship, and it can equip Plasma BC in the left and right turrets making it a bit more multi-role than some of the other choices. I also like the Aegir as M/AM projectors in the main guns don't drain power, and SSC is very good for anti-fighter defence. It's also quite similar in speed to the Astreus(There's only 0.3 difference.) With almost identical speed they compliment each other very well, particularly as one also carries 7 fighters and the other has plenty of cargo space.
I used the Cerberus a lot in T.C., haven't tried one in A.P., but as they are a major presence in the war zones they MUST be powerful/effective.

@Alphan Yeah, I don't mind the Astraeus, its quite good and it was amazing compared to the TC Cerberus, but I always wished it had a different model, being the OTAS M7...
And yeah, the Cerberus is a tank now, anything like an M6 or lower that gets anywhere near it will die pretty well instantly.... Sooo many flak!

I decided to go with the Teladi Shrike for my next object. First, I love the large cargo, second I have the elephant to store ships for blueprints (how do I do that?). After I get the shrike I am going to aim for the Cobra.

@Redheart.........1) Get & Place PHQ {See Roguey's guide if you don't own it yet} 2)Dock required ships there & strip them of everything 3)Go to 'Adjust station parameters' 4) Scroll down to 'Add to Reverse Engineering Queue' & all the docked ships will be shown there in green 5)Double click on the ones you want to Reverse Engineer & this will disassemble the selected ships (one at a time) and add their blueprints to your HQ. 7)When you have blueprints listed there you can choose which ships to make. 8]Check the info. for the PHQ to see if you have enough of the required resources to make your new ships. 9) Enjoy.

@AlphanInfidel when you say Place PHQ, are you referring to the Headquarters plot? That is what I am trying to work on starting now. And thank you for explaining it to me.

Yes the PHQ is the Player Headquarters the station you are rewarded with for doing the PHQ plot.
I mostly just collect blueprints. However if you use them to build ships you may use the bulk purchase exploit to equip them easily.
The exploit is easy: You locate an equipment dock that has the equipment you want and a shipyard in the same sector. Now buy TS in bulks of 10 from the shipyard and bulk equip their cargo holds with whatever your ships need. If an Equipment dock has 4 PPCs in stock and you bulk equip 10 ships with them it actually sells you 40 PPCs (4 per ship). TS are a smart choice because they got enough cargo space to fit quite an arsenal. It's not a bug it's a feature .

Yes, he means the headquarters plot, but I believe he means after you've acquired it, then placed it in it's final position.

Oh AlphanInfidel I always use CLS for my traders and CAG for my sellers.
And another thing that gets my goat, why do I have to fly my ships all over the place to equip them all? Where do you all take your ships to equip them with the software and what not?
I usually jump my ships into albion gamma and fly to the bases inside the albions.

@Redheart........ Yeah, but PHQ is different from other stations; it uses e.g.,energy 4,878,teladianium 152, cloth rimes 50, Rastar oil 101, Ore 203, S.Wafers 152, Crystals 135, Q.Tubes 50, M.Chips 101, C.Components 50, money(credits) 1,439,146........and takes time 4hrs:19:46 to make just 1 Fenrir......... So if you want to make some big ships or make a lot of little ships you're going to have to send some fairly serious amounts of goods there, and keep them arriving as they both fill up the PHQ and then get used up. The good bits are ..... making unique ships and having choices, as it doesn't really seem to save you money, effort or time. Have fun!
P.S. For your last point as well as using the above tip from Hammerit, have a look through the earlier thread named, 'Easy way to equip ships and manage fleets.'

Cool thanks AlphanInfidel.
And I must say, looking out from the Shrike into space is really menacing lol. The antennas sticking straight out from the ship look like teeth.

I believe I just need to gather the credits to purchase it if that is what your referring to. I completed the tasks for the Headquarters plot and now I have to purchase something. Just a matter that, I dont have that much yet as I just bought the Shrike and also got my second major complex up and running.

Yeah they want you to buy an Albatros ... For most players It's the first and last one of those they ever bought. It's slow, underpowered and huge enough so even NPCs can hit it fairly often. It also explodes regularly if NPCs try to dock it. But then again what doesn't? The worst is it's tendency to commit suicide by gate ... Better pray to whomever you believe in and the ship may survive the trip to the system where you want your PHQ built.

Its going into an unknown sector. My final one that is empty lol. And does anyone know what it means when your CAG or CLS are in Idle mode? I never noticed that before but they seem to be doing it a lot more lately?
I also went with the FBL to help kill the fighters on my shrike but they are not really killing much. Anyone have anything better you want to mention? The front guns are IBL and that works great against capital ships, and fighters if I can get them in the cross hairs.
