advice appears to be...aside from increased range mod ..is to go for deep charge class 4 and below and mass manager all above that.

good luck

Ach, had a cargo of 57 Void Opals, checked EDDB and it said top price (1,600.000) was only 12 ly away in Amaunet....get there and they are paying like 230,000!! So, went to Clauss Mines...they paid 749,0000,
so times 57 ain't bad but only 1/2 what the db said. How out of date is that thing???? It said updated 14 minutes ago, but that cannot be right.

Gotta check that "Repair" thing out...never heard of it.

Have a good weekend!

Spacey skies and clear heads...

Enjoyable morning's slaughter and mayhem in the Rez and Nav beacon. 1 mill in bounties and a shedload of eng material collected then headed home without a scratch to the paintwork and picked up a stiff shifter job for 2.3 mill one hop. Where's the justice? Wink

I'll be taking the DBX out for a spin later to secure the Soontill junk. Cracking little ship the DBX even if it does look like the runt of the litter. My only criticism is that it has very stumpy legs and is a bit of a swine to get underneath to stow your SRV when there's even a slight bump underneath it!

What is a "stiff shifter job"?

Seems every single Mission I want to take I am "not qualified for" but no one seems to know HOW to get qualified. I am sitting in Amaunet in my Python, heading to home base in Duaguandri and check the Missions and 12 people want to go to Duaguandri for 1.2Mil. I go to sign up and Boom! I am told I do not qualify. A lousy 8.1LY and 1.2Mil I cannot get. I am a "competent" but does that matter...?

So, guys, tell me how I can "move up" so I can get these juicier missions. Because, honest to pete, I am bored of Core Mining. I am not griping...have almost 300M in my account, core mining has made for me, plus a decked out Python and my sweet little Cobra Mark III - both customized and paid for.

So, next question: Should I get an Anaconda? Keep the Python? - or cash her in? I can afford the Conda without cashing in Python. Conda needs a Large landing pad which can be a prob. Py is Medium.

I want a great multi-purpose ship that can stand its own in combat, first. Then a great transporter and some core mining equipment when needed to boost the treasury. Perhaps there is a better ship than the Conda for that?

Help.

I you're going to do missions at a and you want to get better value missions you need to increase your rep with the factions in the station, so take higher rep missions. Be careful doing this in Diaguandri, it is run by a human faction and you could disrupt their efforts in the BGS, and they would not like that. With regards to a ship for this job my preference is a Python as it can land at any station.

''Stiff shifting'' ... passenger missions. Wink

Got my Soontill relics across the line! My DBX 'The Little Runt' came up trumps again despite a near miss almost running out of juice, managed to find a station running on air in the tank and 2 attempts to interdict.

The Orca is good for passenger missions. It can load three cabins 1 x 6 Business 1 x 12 First and 1 x 6 First class. Probably as much as you'd ever need to earn a decent payday as most are economy class minimum jobs and they're not going to argue at being forced to travel in upgrade as opposed to steerage.

And the Orca is quite handy in a scrap. Fast too.

Look for jobs where there's 3 groups going to the same system, preferably the same starport or if there are any jobs mid route.

sorry JV was trying to stop sending request but did not know how to turn the bloody phone off lol....ended up logging off..that fixed it.

KP yeah I would keep the Python, they can be used for a lot of stuff I rekon.
I assume you found the repair function in the RH panel ?

Having fun atm trying to use Voice Attack to get the hell out of an interdiction using a corkscrew flight pattern whilst boosting and getting next system to jump to then booting fsd.

got it working but its a joke at present as I dunno how to turn off the corkscrew when I want to just straighten out lol.

problem is the key presses for the corkscrew are held down Cry

Hey, does anyone know how to foil these dicks that attach to your cargo hold and steal your hard earned mining results? They are NPDs and hard to shake. Then they are saying, "You could prevent all this if you just hand over half your cargo." And I am like, Oh, so, I shouldn't scream as long as you rape me gentle....? I don't think so! But I cannot get the power turned on to my lasers and rail guns while down-powering the mining apps, while trying to fly away from these two guys.

Would opening and closing your hatch help? Or lowering your landing gear?

They ripped me off for about 5,000,000 Granderite!

I want to get these guys!

if you are talking about hatch breakers try electronic countermeasures and point defence

Ah, those key words, led me on a search. Helps to have the right words ya know? lol
Here is what I learned. I had NEVER heard of this before...NOW I get what the green stuff was I have seen in combat coming from some ships!

The Point Defence Turret is defensive weapon equipment that can be mounted on the "utility mount". Once mounted, the Point Defence Turret will automatically shoot projectiles at missiles, torpedoes and mines in three round bursts for as long as it has power and ammunition. It also shoots any incoming Hatch Breaker Drones. The Point Defence Turret does need line of sight to shoot at any valid target. Due to line of sight limitations on many ships, multiple Point Defence Turrets may be needed for full coverage or alternatively, erratic corkscrewing and rolling flight paths may be used to rotate an oncoming target into the turret's line of fire.

Suddenly this looks indispensable! But do I have room in my utility mount area? Hmmm

Thanks, Bazr!

Safe skies!

As some of you know, I have finally graduated to Open Play. Yesterday I saw my first REAL person in a ship! (Hollow square on HUD, right?) They were sitting on a pad on an outpost with only one pad and I could not land until they took off. I was so excited, dunno why, but it was like, "HEY another live player - right there in THAT ship!" Silly, huh?

Anyway, I learned a useful lesson. When a place says, "Refused" to your request for docking, it does not mean forever. It means they have limited docking so as soon as someone leaves you can dock. Soon as you see someone land and go below decks, or someone take off, put in your request again and it will be granted.

Probably everyone knew this but me. lol

Problem is some stations keep you waiting interminably ... way round it though. Log out and log back in straight away. Usually it clears all the landing pads.

Had a strange one tonight. Was getting the better of an Empire Challenger and he 'slimed' me ... my ship started rotting at the seams and slowly fell apart. Not a thing I could do about it! Another 8 mill rebuy! Bummer!

More to the point, is there any defence against these 'weirdo' weapons?

And aren't chemical weapons against the Geneva Convention? I shall be writing to the MOD and UN about this. Wink

hey SD1...save yourself calling the UN etc ..the bad guys will still use them...

for caustic/corrosive damage I believe one way is to extremely overheat your ship....to at least around 150-160...not real sure how high.
This would be hard to do in a dogfight haha.

Probably best way is decontamination limpits, I think they work pretty quick.

Have to say I have not tried either way myself....so maybe wait for someone else before taking my bullshit lol

KP...yeah I know the feeling of meeting a real person ingame...its a buzz for sure.

First time in open for me (have not been back ) was when I was stranded and had to call the fuel rats..I was in solo but had to go to open....great mob of people...only prob was I had no mic and had to type (you don't wanna see that)...had not communicated with anyone at all before so you could imagine the patience of this guy that had to fly out quite a way to save me..he slowly took me through the procedure and waited while I bumbled around like a newbie....which I was lol..still feel the same on occasions.

I'll see if I can find some decontam limpets to buy Baz. But it's only once in a blue moon, haven't been killed for ages ... until this morning when some idiot passenger wanted to visit a conflict zone and I got sorted for some reason. Then he had the absolute neck to cancel the contract because of hull damage! Doesn't usually happen that you get attacked when you go to goof. Must have been a PVP griefer joining in. Oh well....
